A cookie in this context is a very very tiny (more of a crumb than a whole cookie) piece of data that Muffin stores on your computer while your are logged in. It has to do this because you can only access your data after logging in with your username (or email address) and a password, but Muffin only knows that you're logged in because it left a little note (the cookie) on your computer to remind itself of that. After you've logged out of Muffin, or after a certain amount of time has lapsed, you are required to log in all over again. Muffin does this to protect you, because I (and she) love you!
I use third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run your life Muffin. Although I (David A McClain) own the code, databases, and all rights to the Muffin application, you retain all rights to your data.
I may disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when your actions violate the Terms of Service. But other than that, I will not give, sell or trade your personal information.
Periodically, I may have to update this policy. I will notify all registered users about significant changes in the way I treat personal information by sending a notice to the email address specified in their Muffin account or by placing a prominent notice on the main Muffin site.
