The dates I'm seeing in Muffin App don't match up with what I entered.
- For example if you set up your account like this (don't do this),

it's going to look confusing once you get into Muffin App. If you get paid twice a month, put the earliest date first and the later date second. I.e. 6th then 23rd, not 23rd then 6th. A tip to keep in mind if you're still a little confused is that you don't need to know which of your paydays is next, leave that up to Muffin App. Just tell Muffin App which two days they usually fall on. Take a look at this video for more information on paydays in Muffin App.
-
What if I get paid weekly?
- If you get paid weekly you have two choices. You can either look at Muffin App one month at a time (in which case you set the first pay date to "1" and the second pay date to "N/A") or look at Muffin App on a week-to-week (Friday-to-Friday) basis. Take a look at this video for more information on paydays in Muffin App.
-
What if I change my mind? / What if I made a mistake?
- Once you have logged in, go to "Account" and you can change your pay dates (and a bunch of other stuff too). And remember that you can change these around to view different types of pay periods (eg monthly, bi-weekly etc) whenever you need to.
-
What if this month I'm getting paid early?
- If your normal payday lands on a weekend this month, Muffin App will automatically update itself to reflect that you're getting paid earlier (i.e. on a weekday) this month.
-
I added some spending/income but I don't see it!
- This might be because the item you added has a date earlier or later than what Muffin App is showing you. Double check that you didn't add something due earlier or later than the current view by either switching between "pay periods" or doing a search for that item (Hint: go to "View spending reports").
-
What about my money from last pay check?
- Sometimes (if your very lucky or very unlucky depending on how you look at it) you have a bit of money left over from last paycheck that you need to have in your next "pay period". This would be a good candidate for miscellaneous income.
-
How do I add spending via email?
- If you go to "Account" you'll see a special email address. (Hint: you might want to add that to your email address book/contacts list. Especially if you can email from your phone). To add spending you put the amount (no currency symbols or anything else) in the subject line and send! If you want to add a description for your spending while you're at it, put that in the body of your message. (Hint: If you have an email signature or if you email is with yahoo, hotmail, blackberry etc put an ! (exclamation mark) at the end of your description and Muffin App will ignore everything after it.

How do I get updates via email?
- If you go to "Account" you'll see a special email address. (Hint: you might want to add that to your email address book/contacts list. Especially if you can email from your phone). To get your balance updates/onhand summaries send to you, send an email to your special address with the word Summary in the subject line. Wait a few moments and you'll get an email from Muffin App saying something like "You have $382 onhand now and $241 after everything has been paid". (Hint: You may want to add
no-reply@muffinapp.com to your address book/contacts list if your email provider is marking it as spam and doing nasty things to your updates.)

A bunch of my spending just got marked as paid this morning, what gives?
- Every morning Muffin App automatically marks unpaid spending as "paid" if that item is due that day. The idea is that if it's due, you've probably paid it so Muffin App saves you having to log in to keep your spending updated. If for whatever reason you haven't paid that item, just mark it as "unpaid" and Muffin App will leave it alone.
-
What if I don't get paid in Dollars?
- Muffin App currently supports $, £, €, ¥ and DKK. Support for other currencies will be added in the future. To change what currency Muffin App uses, go to your preferences and select a new currency from the drop down list. (Hint: It's underneath the time zone list.)
